My "Why"

Some girls dream of their wedding and all that goes with "the big day". For me, I never did. (is that weird?!) What I did dream of was being a mother. For as long as I can remember, I enjoyed being around babies and my dolls. I helped with my younger cousins, baby-sat as soon as I was old enough and then enjoyed teaching babies and young children how to swim. I looked into a college program that involved working with children and have always found happiness and purpose in teaching and learning from children. I strive to be that "someone you wish you had" when you were younger.

My journey into motherhood didn't go as smoothly as I'd hoped for. While I'm thankful to have had the experience of being pregnant, it took a little while for us to get there. Once we got the happy news "your pregnant" I enjoyed the first trimester as I walked around on a cloud (although I didn't feel any different except for being ravenously hungry!). During the second trimester, things didn't go so well. Story short, I ended up delivering at 25.4 weeks pregnant, after 5 hours of labour that ended in an emergency c-section. The months in the NICU was a time I don't wish on anyone.

My second pregnancy and birth had a different set of joys and challenges but I'll leave that for another day. Both experiences have molded me into the person I am today and for that, I'm grateful. I treat from a place of compassion for the help I didn't know I needed. My goal is to help special mamas find me, help them heal with less obstacles so that these special years don't get swallowed up in survival mode.

There's a quick peek into my story. It's authentic, it's raw and will always be emotional for me because that's me. These experiences have taught me that although I didn't "break a rib in a car accident" or "hurt my back playing rugby", my body has experienced trauma. And it doesn't just "go away" with time or wishing it away. It's often held in the tissues and if not shown or guided on how to release, it may manifest as physical pain if not today, years down the road.

My kids are older but Sheri helped me understand the importance of treating my c-section scar from over 20 years ago.

I can't believe how much it has helped not only my low back but my neck and headaches!

"Having Sheri come to our house in the first few months made treatment possible for both me and my daughter. She took the time to help me find the right solution for me as breastfeeding was a challenge and my mental health was suffering.
She just has this way to help you "see the forest through the trees" and help find easy ways to incorporate self-care into an already very busy day."

"I went to see Sheri for my lower back pain. After three treatments, my back pain was gone. She treated my scar from my c-section I had 3 years ago! Her treatments also helped calm my daughter and help with her sinus issues.
